The Shops at Willow Bend was originally scheduled to open on August 17, 2001. However, the opening was advanced a couple of weeks to coincide with Texas' three-day sales tax holiday, which eliminates state sales tax on purchases of clothing priced under $100.

The Shops at Willow Bend features a two-level parking deck with spaces for 6,358 cars – 2,925 spaces (46%) on the lower level, and 3,433 spaces (54%) on the upper level.

In addition to the five anchor stores, The Shops at Willow Bend features about 150 designer and specialty stores and restaurants.

To accommodate hungry (and thirsty) shoppers, The Shops at Willow Bend houses a 30,000-square-foot 650-seat food court and a separate cappuccino court.
